Our take

Just past nine, the light over the Port Olímpic going violet, and the dining room had settled into its particular sound: not silence, a low even hum, conversation kept at the level where you can still taste. The acoustics matter, because this creative Mediterranean cooking asks for concentration. It is built on whatever the sea hands over, and the kitchen treats that seafood, so easily wrecked by thirty seconds of inattention, with visible care; the cuisson was judged finely all evening, the seasoning held back wherever the product could speak for itself. A few flourishes lean ornamental, garnish doing more waving than work, yet the substance beneath them never wavers. Service is formal because the food requires it, and the room's quiet lets the whole thing land. Save it for an evening of consequence; one visit a season feels right, when the appetite turns serious and sea-bright.

Order this: Whatever the kitchen is doing with the day's catch; that is where it thinks hardest.

Midday, high above the Port Olímpic, the sea flat and silver below: the same view as my first visit, but the cooking has gained in assurance since. Enoteca builds its menu on what the boats bring in and treats seafood with the care it deserves, and if a few flourishes lean ornamental, the substance underneath holds. Formal service, a polished room, an occasion house. I left already planning the next occasion.

Halfway through the first glass I clocked how the room behaves: above the Port Olímpic, a polished hush that lets the sea-led cooking speak. Technique refined, seafood timed with care, seasoning judged; a garnish or two leans ornamental, yet the substance beneath is real. Service stays formal because the plates ask it to be. When appetite turns serious, this is where mine points.

Our waiter took the measure of us before the chairs were pushed in, and the first ten minutes ran like a well-rehearsed overture: coats gone, water poured, the sea filling the windows above the Port Olímpic. What follows deserves the ceremony. Seafood cooked with evident care, seasoning judged rather than applied, only the occasional flourish tipping toward ornament. Formal, yes, but formality in service of something. I'd save it for the days the appetite turns serious; mine number three or four a year.
