Our take
Nearly midnight by the time I wandered back down the hill, and I had only meant to stay for one glass. That is Monocrom's trick. The next table was deep in a friendly argument about a grower neither of them could pronounce, so the pourer brought the bottle over and settled it, and somehow we all ended up tasting together. Up in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi the room feels a step apart from the city's noise, which suits it. The list leans natural and reads like a diary of bottles somebody genuinely loved, not a catalogue. Every visit teaches me something small: a grower's village, or a new way of thinking about vi. Quiet confidence runs right through the place. Every third month or so I make the climb again, and each time the hill feels shorter.
