Our take
My companion, who treats sandwiches as a personal religion, went quiet in a way I have learned to read as approval. It was one of those sharp bright January mornings when Gràcia is all scarves and low sun, and a proper bocadillo eaten standing felt like the only sensible plan. Marc Ribas gives the humble format its due: good bread and fillings chosen with actual thought, plus a deli counter that rewards browsing. The operation is new, and newness in this city usually means noise; this is the quieter sort, confidence without fuss. No tablecloths, no reservations. The value, for the care on show, is excellent. I shall be back once a year or so, whenever winter light and an empty stomach coincide, brushing crumbs from my coat without a shred of regret.
