Our take

The room does half the work before anyone speaks: low light, regulars leaning on the counter, bottles arranged like paperbacks you want to pull down and read. But what stayed with me was a small moment mid-evening. I had asked, vaguely, for something white and a little wild, and the woman pouring watched my first sip, took the glass back, and returned with a bottle she'd opened an hour earlier — no fuss, no lecture, just a better answer. Attention like that is rarer than any list, though the list here is kept with real care, personal, leaning natural without preaching about it. An hour slipped past before I noticed. In truth it's a mood I reach for occasionally rather than weekly, but when that mood arrives, few corners of the Eixample meet it so easily.

Order this: A glass of whichever natural bottle they're proudest of that evening; let the counter steer you.

My friend Dani picked the corner table and refused to leave, which turned out to be the whole evening. This little room hums: regulars trading hellos across the bar, glasses of something cloudy moving fast, the volume rising in that happy way that never tips into din. The list reads like someone's diary, poured with intent. An hour vanished. I don't get there often, but I'm always glad when I do.

Regulars own this room, and the staff make no secret of it. My glass was refilled before I had finished asking, generously and exactly, by someone who then drifted back to a conversation at the far end of the bar. I did not mind. The list is kept with real affection and an hour vanishes without effort, though a visitor remains, pleasantly, a guest in someone else's local. Now and then, that is a fine thing to be.
