Let me be plain: creative cooking usually irritates me, because ideas are cheap and execution is not. Prodigi has the execution. Up close, the evidence accumulates of a kitchen that edits itself: a sauce reduced until it means something, textures placed deliberately, seasoning that knows when to stop. The Catalan register feels personal rather than borrowed, and when a dish reaches slightly past its grasp it does so through ambition, never carelessness. The tasting menu builds as it goes; nothing repeats. I would go back each season, not because I need to be surprised, but because a kitchen that thinks out loud and still lands its cuisson is rare enough to follow closely. Give it a whole evening and come curious.

Our waiter spoke about the menu like a farmer walking his own fields, which told me the ideas come from inside the house. Creative Catalan cooking in the Dreta de l'Eixample, priced accordingly, and here is the thing: the bill felt earned. The invention is edited, the seasoning sure, nothing on the plate exists for the camera. I would pay it again every few months without a sigh.
Warmer than the room, cooler than I expected: one dish that night arrived at precisely the temperature its idea demanded, and judgement like that is scarcer than any garnish. Che meraviglia, truly, how the playful thinking here keeps landing on its feet, caught every time by sound seasoning and a feel for where a plate ought to end. Personal cooking, nothing borrowed. Whenever a table frees up in this corner of the Eixample, I find myself inventing the time.
Rain had emptied the terraces that evening, and the dining room felt like shelter. At the next table, two friends argued over whether one plate was clever or merely showing off; three bites later the argument died, and I could have told them how it would end. This kitchen edits itself, reining ideas in before they turn into games, and the wines are chosen with the same discipline. Every few months, gladly.
